How to install Softener in Photoshop 7

Softener does work with Photoshop 7. The Softener installer should automatically install into the correct folder. When asked during the install procedure if you want to "Search for Plug-in Folder?", click "Yes".

Once you're running Photoshop 7, load an image (something like a JPEG or a BMP file). You can then use Softener by clicking on the following menu option: menu option.

Filter -> namesuppressed -> Softener

If Softener is not showing in your Filter menu, you will need to re-install it into the correct plug-in folder. Uninstall Softener, then re-run the installer program. If you don't have the installer anymore, you can download it here:

http://www.namesuppressed.com/software/nssoftener.exe

On the installer screen that says "Choose Install Location", make sure the Destination Folder is the location of your Photoshop Plug-in folder. It should be something like:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Plug-Ins\Softener

If not, click the Browse button and change it to the correct folder. Then complete the installer, and Softener should be ready to use from Photoshop!
