Lyrics

We've got the team to win and it's oh so cool
Give up now! We're number one in the pool
We've got the girls and the guys and you hear us say-a
You finish last, the winners are Timae

It's our honour you see to do our best
So take a back seat, and have a rest
We've got the girls and the guys and you hear us say-a
You finish last, the winners are Timae
You finish last, the winners are Timae

About The Track
The Timae Rap was written by Brian Plowman, the dean of Timae (my house at St. Stephen's School). Its original purpose was to encourage the house to participate in that year's interhouse swimming carnival. I was approached one day to perform it at an assembly with Brian. Naturally, I said yes, and have been glad I did ever since.

Some of my more well known performances are attributable to this song. It was first performed at an assembly in front of approximately 200 people. I tried to make it as relaxed as possible by assuming the role of a stereotypical rapper. I performed it with Brian; when he asked if I was ready, I replied "Ready when you are, Posse G".

The most well known performance of The Timae Rap was during the 1996 Interhouse Swimming Carnival. Some people had suggested that we should perform The Timae Rap over the PA system the organisers were using. I took it as a joke at first, but I soon realised what a brilliant idea it was.

When the lunch time break came, Brian and I stepped up to the microphone when it was free. The first words were "This is DJ Koneman hijacking the microphone"... the rest is history.
